Good Riddance

Some good news today: Mark Green, a hateful homophobe who Donald Trump nominated for Secretary of the Army, withdrew his name from consideration yesterday, meaning he will not be confirmed to the post.

His decision was fueled in part by intense pressure from LGBT groups, as the political newspaper The Hill reported late yesterday (link here).

I wrote on this blog several times in recent weeks (links here) about Green's vile anti-LGBT actions and rhetoric and his use of despicable terms like "diseased" to describe members of our community.

The mere fact that Trump would choose such a hateful and woefully unqualified individual, one of many anti-LGBT homophobes he has picked, is pretty damning proof that he is not pro-LGBT, notwithstanding what he and his supporters claim.
